Strawberry Smoothie Althea is a vibrant ornamental shrub prized for its abundant, double-layered flowers that appear from midsummer into fall. The "Smoothie" series of Althea are double-flowered varieties; because the reproductive parts of the flower are replaced by extra petals (the "double" look), they rarely produce viable seeds which also includes the Blueberry Smoothie, Peppermint Smoothie and Raspberry Smoothie.
