Bicolor Iris

Dietes bicolor

Bicolor Iris is a wonderful addition to any landscape. Its long, narrow, light green foliage provides added texture and looks great next to your other plants. Elegant white and orange flowers protrude in spring, creating a lovely contrast against textured leaves. It reaches up to 2 feet in height and the same size across at maturity. It reaches maturity approximately 2-3 years after planting.

  • A herbaceous perennial
  • Moderate growth rate
  • Clumping growth habit
  • Attractive, sword-like foliage
  • Spring-blooming flowers

Hardy in zones 8-11, this perennial will fare well in the North Texas climate. It thrives in full sun, so ensure at least 6-8 hours of sunlight daily. While adaptable to various soil conditions, Bicolor Iris prefers well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil. Deadhead spent flowers to create space for new blooms. Fertilize in early spring to support healthy growth.
