Chocolate Chip Ajuga

The Chocolate Chip Ajuga is a herbaceous groundcover that many in Texas love. It grows only 6 inches in height and 18 inches in width at maturity. This dwarf perennial features foliage it’s often prized for - green to dark purple leaves, with clusters of purple flowers in season. It's perfect for containers and landscapes, but also around stepping stones for a pop of color.

While the Chocolate Chip Ajuga loves full sun, it will grow beautifully in shade as well. It prefers moist and rich soils, so plant accordingly. Since it's at home in zones 4-9, this makes it perfect for most of Texas, except the very South. If using it as groundcover, space each specimen 24 inches apart to give them enough space to grow.
