Falling Waters Weeping Bald Cypress
Taxodium distichum 'Falling Waters'Falling Waters Weeping Bald Cypress is defined by its long, pendulous branches that drape downward in soft layers, creating a fluid, cascading silhouette. The fine, feathery foliage lines each stem, giving the plant a light, textured appearance that moves gently with the structure. Rather than forming a rigid canopy, it builds a loose, vertical framework with branches that fall naturally along the trunk. Reaching about 15 to 25 feet tall and spreading 10 to 15 feet wide at maturity, it develops a tall, graceful presence that works well as a focal point or near water features.
- Deciduous conifer
- Soft, feathery green foliage
- Weeping, cascading growth habit
- Moderate growth rate
- Excellent for focal plantings and water-adjacent landscapes
Falling Waters Weeping Bald Cypress thrives in full sun and adapts to a range of soils, including moist conditions. Hardy in USDA zones 4 through 10, it provides flowing structure and seasonal texture in Texas landscapes.
