The Most Hardy Flowering Trees for North Texas

February 4, 2022

As I stare out my window to watch the ice melting after our latest freeze, I enjoy thinking about the Spring ahead and all of the blooms that await. I spend my days dreaming out the windows and my evenings tearing out pages from plant catalogs and researching the best plants to create my wish lists. One thing I know as a long time gardener is that it’s always important to start with the anchor plants first when designing. If you just moved into a new home, you likely have a shade tree or two installed by the builder and some simple shrubs in the front flowerbeds. However, the plants with a little punch and pop of color are usually left out of the mix in a brand new landscape.  This is where flowering trees come in and I want to share with you some of our favorites from our nursery that just love it here in North Texas.
