Tree Gators are made of a green UV-protected plastic that holds up to 15 gallons of water and two bags can be zipped together which can then hold up to 48 gallons.
Single Bag Setup
Double Bag Setup
The manufacturer does not recommend zipping three bags together as the bags tend to have issues flattening out at the bottom which doesn't allow water to drain out of the holes. The water is released via two small holes at the bottom of the bag which eliminates any run off. Customers often prefer to use Tree Gators rather than watering by hand because it is quick and easy to install and once the bag is filled you can simply walk away and not worry about when to turn off the water. The bags are filled manually by placing a garden hose in a hole at the top of the bag. Tree Gators are not suitable for trees and shrubs with branches less than 30” from the ground which is the height of the bag when filled; instead the following watering systems should be used: ArborRain Hydration System, Bubblers, Drip Irrigation or Garden Hose.
