Pop Star Pink Balloon Flower

Pop Star Pink Balloon Flower makes the transition into bloom part of the show. Rounded buds swell like tiny balloons at the tips of the stems, then unfold into broad, five-pointed pink flowers with fine darker veining across the petals. Because the plant stays low and compact, these distinctive buds and blooms remain clustered close to the foliage, giving the entire plant a detailed, almost miniature quality. At about 6 to 10 inches tall and 8 to 12 inches wide at maturity, it is particularly well suited to places where its features can be appreciated up close.

• Flowering perennial
• Balloon-shaped buds opening into pink star-shaped flowers
• Petite, compact growth habit
• Moderate growth rate
• Excellent for rock beds, containers, and border fronts

Pop Star Pink Balloon Flower favors full sun to partial shade and fertile, and well-drained soil. Hardy in USDA zones 3-8, its buds and compact scale bring a different kind of floral detail to Texas perennial plantings.
