Candy Apple Pie
Candy Apple Pie - This is the best apple pie recipe that I have ever tried. It's the perfect portion of apples, crust, and Fall flavors. This easy to make pie is a family favorite for the holidays. Enjoy a slice as is or à la mode.

- 6 cups granny smith apples sliced & peeled
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 pastry for 9" double crust pie
CANDY APPLE SAUCE INGREDIENTS
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup brown sugar finely packed
- 2 tbsp milk
In a large bowl toss apples with lime juice. Combine dry ingredients and add to apples.
Place bottom crust in a pie dish and fill with apple mixture. Cover with top crust. Flute edges high, cut steam vents.
Bake at 400° for 40-45 minutes.
CANDY APPLE SAUCE INSTRUCTIONS
For the topping, melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in brown sugar and milk, and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and pour over the top of the crust.
Return the pie to the oven for 3-4 minutes or until bubbly. Serve warm.
