Candy Apple Pie

Candy Apple Pie - This is the best apple pie recipe that I have ever tried. It's the perfect portion of apples, crust, and Fall flavors. This easy to make pie is a family favorite for the holidays. Enjoy a slice as is or à la mode.

  • 6 cups granny smith apples sliced & peeled
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pastry for 9" double crust pie


  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar finely packed
  • 2 tbsp milk


  • In a large bowl toss apples with lime juice. Combine dry ingredients and add to apples.
  • Place bottom crust in a pie dish and fill with apple mixture. Cover with top crust. Flute edges high, cut steam vents.
  • Bake at 400° for 40-45 minutes.


  • For the topping, melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in brown sugar and milk, and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and pour over the top of the crust.
  • Return the pie to the oven for 3-4 minutes or until bubbly. Serve warm.
