Planting Process |
|
Treeland has well trained crews who follow set procedures for each tree that they plant (which are listed below). To ensure that these procedures are followed, the owners require that each supervisor take pictures of every tree planted for their review.
After an order is placed Treeland schedules each customer with a specific delivery date and time.
- During transport all of the trees and shrubs will be placed under a tarp to ensure that none of the leaves are burnt or lost.
- Upon arrival at the customers house Treeland will transport all of the trees and shrubs around the customers yard with a tree dolly. Most companies use a tractor which often leaves ruts in the yard due to the tractor tires.
- By also using a tree dolly Treeland can easily fit the trees and shrubs through the customers gates which means that we never have to remove fence panels. When other companies use a tractor they will charge a fee for removing the fence panel and there will often times be a backyard fee.
- When the final placement of each tree is determined Treeland will then dig each hole using a shovel which limits the chances of breaking sprinkler pipe.
- Before planting each of the trees are planted we will loosen the outer 1/2" of roots on all container trees which stimulates the roots to grow faster into the surrounding soil.
- To ensure that each tree is planted at the proper depth the top of the existing rootball is planted 1" above the existing ground level and there are instances in which we plant higher due to slight elevation changes in a customers yard. The only exceptions to this rule are Magnolias, Leyland Cypress and Italian Cypress which we plant 4" above ground level to ensure proper drainage.
- Treeland will turn each tree to the customer's preferred view.
- Treeland stakes all of the container trees and shrubs using 12 guage double stranded galvanized wire. We also wrap the trunk with 1/2" irrigation pipe to protect it from rubbing against wire. The staking process is illustrated in these pictures: Red Oak, Live Oak, Lacebark Elm and Chinese Pistachio.
- Treeland allows each customer to decide if they would like a well to be built around their trees or if they would like to keep the dirt level with the yard.
- When the planting is complete Treeland will remove all of the excess dirt or customers can decide to keep it.
- Treeland sends a camera with each crew so they can take pictures of all of the trees and shrubs when the job is completed. This allows the owner to oversee that each item is properly planted and staked and that the yard is free of any loose dirt upon completion.
- Treeland also provides each customer with a watering schedule and fertilizer program to ensure proper tree care.
